The 'instantaneous' distance {Earth-Mars} -millions of kilometers- starting on 01/01/1950 AD and during seven marsian years [La distance 'instantanée' {Terre-Mars} -en millions de kilomètres- à partir du 01/01/1950 et pendant sept années martiennes].




During these seven years the "instantaneous" distance between the Earth and Mars varies between 55 and 394 millions of kilometers. Each celestial body is colored according to its actual color (except for the Sun...):

The luminance of the segment joining the Earth and Mars is an increasing function of their distance Color palette 'rouge_orang.32' .


Please note that obviously for a space ship, the distance could much more A succesful journey from the Earth to Mars starting on 01/01/1950 AD, velocity=27.900 m/s, duration=270 days ...
